In June 2019, San Francisco banned the sale of e-cigarettes in the city from early 2020. The ban was made effective by a citywide ordinance signed by Mayor London Breed in July 2019. The ban will be the first of its kind in the United States, since a similar one in Beverly Hills does not take effect until 2021.
